These homemade baubles look boutique – but cost practically nothing

In the depths of winter, fresh greenery gathered from the garden can brighten up your home and reconnect you with nature. One way to use this material is to create your own Christmas baubles – it’s super-easy to do, the results are gorgeous and you’ll save money, too. Here, we’ve used a colour scheme of gold and navy, and filled the baubles with a mixture of yew, eucalyptus and holly. You could vary the design by choosing a different colour scheme or adding other evergreens.

Find out how to make your own Christmas baubles, below

You Will Need

  • Empty glass baubles
  • Greenery from the garden, we used eucalyptus, yew and holly
  • Festive ribbon
  • Spray paint, we used gold
  • Tweezers

Step 1

Fill the baubles with greenery from the garden

Fill your baubles with items such as blue spruce and eucalyptus. Consider spraying some of the greenery first – we sprayed the eucalyptus gold. Use tweezers to arrange the greenery inside the bauble.

Step 2

Adding a ribbon to the bauble

Close the bauble with the cap and use gold or navy ribbon – or even colourful twine – to make a hanging loop.

Step 3

Hang the baubles from the outer branches of the tree

Gently hang the baubles from the outer branches of the tree, so they stand out.
