Developed from the 1760s onwards, these historic gardens offer a delightful mix of ornate formal gardens, woodland and wildflower meadows. The large walled garden has been returned to productive use, with vegetables, an apple orchard and 100-year-old trained fruit trees, along with flower borders and a dipping pond. The formal areas continue with a parterre and terrace. Beyond is a yew tree walk, lake and pinetum with towering redwoods.
