I’ve Wasted Precious Time and Money on My Veggie Patch – This All-in-One Raised Bed Could Have Done It for Me

It has officially been one of the hottest and driest summers on record, so of course I decided this was the year to expand my veg patch. Of course I did. (Not to get too Taylor Swift about it, but hi, it’s me, I’m the problem, it’s me.) And while giving my family that farm-to-table lifestyle has been incredibly rewarding, it has also made me realise just how much watering it takes to grow your own.

This means that I’ve been saving rainwater and pasta water like a madwoman, lugging hoses across the garden and desperately trying to keep everything alive. Somewhere between worrying about whether my stubbornly green tomatoes are getting enough water and trying to keep everything else from giving up the ghost, I started wondering whether there might be an easier way to grow vegetables.

And guess what? There is! It might be too late for me this year, but I have discovered the Garden In Minutes’ All-In-One Raised Garden Bundle and will be making the upgrade for next year’s veggies.

I Wish I’d Discovered This All-in-One Raised Bed Sooner

Before planting my crops this year, I had toyed with the idea of raised beds and irrigation systems to make planting, watering and harvesting easier. But after costing DIY options that were coming out well over $500, I gave up on the idea.

So, when I saw this nifty little All-In-One Raised 2×2 Garden Bundle starting from a sweet $229.50 I had to know more. As the name suggests, the simple setup can be built and ready to water in minutes. It has the bonus of not having to give yourself a headache hunting down a raised bed, a watering system, and a garden grid manifold that work together, too.

The result? Well, you get a dedicated growing space for your veggies, planting is easier to organize, and it takes a lot of the legwork out of watering. In other words, instead of me wandering around the garden with a hose like a lacklustre cowgirl with a lasso, the watering is built right into the setup. Yee-ha!

As someone who painstakingly measures everything out myself by hand, I also love that the grid itself creates square and very clearly defined planting sections. It means I know exactly how much space to leave between everything (think of the time I could have saved!).

It’s a the kind of raised bed that looks just as pretty as it is practical (there’s plenty of room for roots to grow, and the open-bottom design helps with drainage, which means your plants aren’t just sitting in soggy soil for days on end). And this isn’t one of those gardening purchases that feels destined to be replaced after a couple of seasons, either, as the bed has been made to withstand heat, sun and cold all year-round.

The raised bed is available in a number of sizes, so you can choose a footprint that makes sense for your space. And because the system is modular, there’s the option to add more growing space later rather than trying to plan your entire vegetable-growing empire on day one.

Oh sure, I’ll happily admit there is something slightly galling about discovering a product that might have prevented so much of the frantic watering that has occupied my summer. And would it have magically transformed my gardening skills? Probably not; I suspect even the cleverest raised bed can’t compensate for my questionable tomato-growing abilities.

Still, it might have meant I spent less time worrying about whether my vegetables were getting watered and more time actually enjoying the fact that I was growing them. After all, people always say don’t work hard, work smart. And Garden In Minutes’ All-In-One Raised Garden Bundle? It might just be the definition of that concept in action!
